Closing the Door
Title: Closing the Door

ASH Character: Rupert Giles
Pairing: Giles/Buffy (BtVS/AtS)
Author’s Note: For ashthedrabble’s challenge: Fear
The door slammed in Giles’s face, Buffy words still echoing in his head, "Go help those girls that still need teaching." He fumbled with his glasses, wiping them before wiping away the tear forming in his eye. In a time of war such as this there was no time for emotions to interfere.
Forcing a smile as Dawn passed Giles ducked into an empty bedroom and shut the door behind him. Here alone he could allow himself to cry, his worst fears finally realised. After all his years of training and support, Buffy no longer had a use for him.
First try at anything like this.
