People still read this journal. Do not delete.

LJ is purging inactive communities again. This post is to keep this community active.
[identity profile] anidada.livejournal.com
As [livejournal.com profile] katekat1010 noted in [livejournal.com profile] beegee_icontest, LJ is deleting and purging inactive accounts including communities in which there have been no posts for 24 consecutive months.

Please note that they are also deleting journals in which people have not logged in for 24 consecutive months. If you are in touch with someone who has been away from their journal for an extended period of time, or you're part of a community that doesn't see much action anymore and don't see a mod post in the next couple of days, please spread the word.

Although the community itself is quiet these days, I think it's worth preserving. *hugs all of you who are still here*

I'm sorry I'm SO late with closing this challenge. But maybe that's ok, since now the next mod can start a new one fresh after the holiday. (Ok, just trying to make it sounds like I did it on purpose).

Great entries this challenge, I loved them all.

Challenge 23 winner is Snowed In by [livejournal.com profile] lilithbint Banner will be posted soon. I'll edit this post and toss it behind a cut.

Genre/Rating : Gen/ PG

A/N: I just watched VR.5 for the first time this week. Wow.

He doesn’t wear the color white. It’s always dark suits paired with dark hued shirts; the palest clothing hanging in his closet are shades of grey or brown. He likes to pretend it’s because of the image they project; he wouldn’t be so effective in sneaking up on people or blending in if he was outfitted in bright colors. He has a habit of lying to himself.

White is purity, cleanliness, and innocence. He is none of those, and hasn’t been for a long time. It is a small thing, but to him it makes a difference. He is black.

Challenge: 23
Author: EllycatinOz
Website www.livejournal.com/users/ellycatinoz
Fandom: BtVS
Character: Rupert Giles
Genre/Rating : Gen, not even one swearword!
Word Count: 224

Rupert Giles looked out the cottage window to the narrow lane outside. Snow was falling steadily as it had for the past couple of hours. The edges of the lane were blurring into the surrounding countryside. The cottage that had looked so quaint and cute in summer was starting to feel isolated and a little alien.

Rupert glanced at the clock on the mantelpiece. Olivia was over two hours late. It didn’t take that long to get to the cottage from the airport, even if it was snowing. He wishes she would call at least to let him know. But communicating by machine was not her thing.

By degrees he became aware that the still full mug of tea in his hand had grown cold. He thought about going into the large kitchen that was the heart of the cottage to make another but the will to move was lacking. He thought about moving away from the window to sit on the overstuffed sofa near the merrily burning fire, perhaps to read his latest antiquarian find. However he didn't move, instead resuming staring out the window at the snowed in lane. A passing thought lodged deeper into his consciousness that this was his future, alone and waiting.

He hoped that this Slayer business was worth losing so many pieces of the real Rupert.

Hi! My name is Leanne, I'm new to the LJ community. Only reccently started reading slash stuff and am now all sorts of hooked. Especially in regard to Giles, I really like Giles/Spike and Angel/Spike and Giles/Wesley. I am PSUTheatreGirl@aol.com in some Buffy/Angel slash yahoo groups. Please add me as a friend if you know me from any of the yahoo groups or just if you want to!

Ok, we've been kinda slow around here lately, so I'll try to do and easy challenge.

Challenge 23 is Snow and/or White

See what you can come up with for those two words. Remember, any ASHBLF, any pairing, etc. Let's kick December off right and give us lots of good drabbles.
[identity profile] scratchingpost1.livejournal.com
I'm closing challenge 22 with no entries.  I forgot about this and left it open longer than planned, and still we had no entries.  I may revive this challenge later.

[livejournal.com profile] monkeyscorpion should be along soon with the next challenge.
[identity profile] scratchingpost1.livejournal.com
For this challenge,  the theme is cars.  Take it how you will.

Have fun with this!

Entries will be due in two weeks.  The due date is Sunday, November 19.

Rules for the challenge are located here.

Email: abchainey@xtra.co.nz

Website: www.livejournal.com/users/lilithbint

Fandom: BtVS

Character: Giles

Genre/Rating: character pieces PG13 for references to m/m relationships.

Summary: Two drabbles for the challenge. The first is the Ripper I created for a series which has Spike turning Rupert Giles in the 1980’s and the Crow manip is exactly how I envisioned him, the second is purely inspired by [livejournal.com profile] khaoschilde (100 words each)

Ooh and aah over the lovely ASH manips by [livejournal.com profile] khaoschilde (don't forget: feedback is love!) here (four graphics, not dial-up friendly, and one may be a wee bit dodgy for work due to the leather/chain factor, though there's nothing you wouldn't see on network TV).

Then, give one (or more) of those images a story.

Please be sure to note (if it isn't obvious from the drabble) which image (or images) inspired you.

The challenge will run until November 5th. The rules are on our info page, if you need a refresher.

Have fun, and happy drabbling!

Sorry this is late. I was ill, and I have memory issues. There was only one entry, so that one wins. But as I'm now sleep deprived from being up too long after being sick, I will shut up and edit this post when I can make more sense. I don't even remember who posts the next challenge. :)

Again, sorry for my forgetfulness and lack of tact with this post.

this didn't end up having much to do with camping *grin* but it does has Sebastian in it and you don't get much campier than him...

Sorry I didn't get this up last night. I didn't know what I wanted to do for the challenge. Actually, still don't.

Ok, here we go.

Challenge 20 is CAMPING

Take your ASHBLF camping. And please, I'm begging you...more than just Giles, ok? I love him to pieces, but where's everybody else?

If you need a brush up on the rules, check the info. Otherwise this challenge will be closed on October 1st.

Happy camping writing.
